About

Hi, I’m Susie

I’m the voice behind Rosie in a New Light.
Rosie began with something I’ve come to believe deeply: the relationship we have with ourselves affects almost everything.

How we make decisions.
How we handle our emotions.
How we set boundaries.
How we experience relationships.
How much we trust ourselves.
How willing we are to choose ourselves.
And sometimes, the relationship we have with ourselves needs a little attention.

That’s what Rosie is about.

Why I Created Rosie
Rosie didn’t begin as a perfectly formed idea.
It grew out of my own interest in understanding myself – why I thought the way I did, why I responded to things the way I did, why certain patterns kept showing up, and what it actually meant to have a relationship with myself.
Over time, I realized that so much of what we talk about as personal growth comes back to this one relationship.
The one we have with ourselves.
You can learn about boundaries.
You can learn about emotional regulation.
You can learn about self-validation and self-trust.
But eventually, the question becomes:
What is my relationship with myself actually like?
That question became the heartbeat of Rosie.

What Brought Me Here
I’ve spent a lot of my life learning how to understand myself, trust myself, and find my way back to myself.
There have been periods when I was deeply disconnected from myself – when I looked outside of myself for answers, reassurance, validation, or permission.
And there has also been a lot of learning on the other side of that.
I’ve learned that self-trust isn’t something you simply decide to have.
It’s something you build.
You build it by listening to yourself.
By paying attention to what you feel.
By keeping promises to yourself.
By honoring your boundaries.
By learning from your experiences.
By staying with yourself when things get uncomfortable.
That’s the work I’m interested in.
And it’s the work I now help other people do.

What I Believe
I don’t believe you need to become a completely different person to have a better life.
I believe you need to know yourself.
I believe your emotions contain information.
I believe boundaries aren’t punishments or walls – they’re information about what works for you and what doesn’t.
I believe validation starts at home.
I believe self-trust is built through experience.
I believe you can care deeply about other people without abandoning yourself.
And I believe that sometimes the way forward isn’t becoming someone new.
It’s returning to yourself.

My Approach & How I Work
I’m not interested in telling you who you should be.
I’m interested in helping you understand who you already are.
That means we’re going to look at what’s actually happening – your thoughts, emotions, patterns, boundaries, choices, relationships, and the stories you may have been carrying about yourself.
We’ll get curious.
We’ll slow things down.
We’ll separate what you know from what you’re assuming.
We’ll look at what belongs to you and what doesn’t.
And we’ll work toward something more useful than simply having all the right answers:
being able to hear yourself.
Because ultimately, I don’t want you to need me to tell you what to do.
I want you to become someone who can trust themselves to figure it out.

Why I coach
There is a point where reading another article isn’t enough.
You can understand the concept and still find yourself repeating the pattern.
You can know you need a boundary and still struggle to hold it.
You can know you shouldn’t need everyone’s approval and still find yourself looking for it.
Sometimes what you need isn’t more information.
You need somewhere to slow down, look at what’s actually happening, and have someone help you see what you may not be able to see on your own.
That’s what coaching with me is for.

And, Outside of Rosie..
I’m Susie.
I’m a wife, a dog mom, a lifelong learner, and someone who is still figuring things out just like everyone else.
I don’t have myself completely figured out – and I don’t think that’s the goal.
The goal, for me, is to have a relationship with myself that allows me to meet whatever comes next.
That’s what I want Rosie to help you build, too.

A relationship with yourself you can actually rely on.
